The University of Maine softball team has been placed on probation for three years and will delay the start of the 2008 season by one week for violating school policies that prohibit hazing, university officials announced Wednesday. The university began an investigation this summer after photos appeared online showing members of the softball team apparently drinking alcohol at a party in 2006.
